Recently, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology announced the proposed list of Zhejiang Provincial Key Enterprise Research Institutes for 2025, and the Special Paper Research Institute of Zhejiang KAN New Materials Co., Ltd. was recognized as a "Provincial Key Enterprise Research Institute".

The Zhejiang Provincial Department of Science and Technology released the public notice of approved projects for the 2026 Provincial "Pioneer & Leader + X" Science and Technology Program. The project "R&D and Industrialization of Key Technologies for High-Performance Paper-Based Separator Materials for Hybrid Electrolytic Capacitors" declared by the company was successfully selected, marking a major breakthrough in the highest-level provincial science and technology program.

KAN's selected research project precisely aligns with the requirements of the provincial "Pioneer & Leader + X" Program, featuring both cutting-edge and practical value. It is a typical example of the company leveraging its long-term industrial advantages to solve development challenges.

Led by Zhejiang KAN New Materials Co., Ltd. and jointly with Zhejiang Sci-Tech University and Tsinghua University, this project addresses the prominent issue that separators for hybrid electrolytic capacitors in China have long relied on imports and key materials are subject to external constraints. It focuses on tackling core bottlenecks such as structural design, surface interface regulation and large-scale manufacturing of paper-based separators, striving to break through stuck-neck technologies and build an independently controllable domestic system of high-performance separator materials.

The selection of this project represents the high recognition from science and technology authorities and industry experts of Zhejiang KAN New Materials Co., Ltd.'s R&D foundation, technical strength and industrialization capabilities. It symbolizes that the company's key technologies for high-performance paper-based separator materials for hybrid electrolytic capacitors are gradually moving from laboratory to industrialization.

    The implementation of this project will significantly improve the heat resistance, mechanical strength and electrochemical stability of separators, form industrializable complete sets of processes and equipment, and realize domestic substitution of key materials.
